Newborn Shopping Checklist for Parents in Brunei
Share
Preparing for a newborn is easier when you organize your shopping around everyday routines. Start with clothing, changing, feeding and a place to sleep, then add items that suit your family’s plans.
Everyday clothing
Build a small wardrobe of bodysuits, sleepsuits and rompers, with spare outfits for changes during the day. Check each brand’s size guide before buying several items in one size. Choose pieces suited to your home environment and easy to put on and take off.

Changing and bathtime
Your checklist might include nappies, wipes or cotton pads, a changing mat, towels and a baby bath. Muslins are also handy for everyday clean-ups. Check pack quantities so you know how much you’re buying.

Feeding supplies
Choose feeding supplies around how you plan to feed your baby. Depending on your routine, these may include bottles, suitable teats, a breast pump, breast pads, bibs and cleaning or sterilising equipment.
Check bottle and teat compatibility carefully. Replacement teats can differ between ranges, even within the same brand. Follow the product’s instructions for use and cleaning.

Nursery essentials
Measure your available space before choosing a cot or crib. Check the manufacturer’s specifications for a compatible mattress and fitted sheets. Follow the product’s assembly and use instructions.
Getting out and about
Compare strollers by their folded dimensions, weight and suitability from birth. For car seats, check suitability for your baby and compatibility with your vehicle. Product instructions and manufacturer guidance can help you compare the options.
